Deep Transitions is a research collaboration between Utrecht University, University of Sussex, and investment firm Baillie Gifford, exploring how unsustainable systems emerged (DT History) and how they can transform toward sustainability (DT Futures). Since launching in 2016, the project has evolved to include the DT Lab, Global Investors Panel, and Transformative Investment Philosophy. I've been their designer since 2019, creating the visual identity system and supporting the project with materials for publications, workshops, and communications.

The project originally had a single logo, which later became DT History when the research expanded into two phases. I developed a cohesive brand system for the umbrella brand and both sub-brands (DT History and DT Futures) building on the existing gradient and color palette.

Each phase of the research (Deep Transitions, DT History, and DT Futures) has its own color palette to distinguish them while gradients tie the system together.

The DT Futures logo uses wavy lines to represent multiple pathways converging toward a sustainable future, different pathways moving in the same direction.
